Paige DeSorbo’s Amici Spritz Is the Perfect End-of-Summer Sip-by Christianna Silva

The podcast host and reality TV star is here to introduce you to your new favorite drink to share with your besties.

If you don’t know who Paige DeSorbo is, let us enlighten you. She makes up half of the Giggly Squad, a podcast she hosts with her best friend and comedian Hannah Berner. She’s also known for her contributions to Bravo reality shows Summer House, Winter House, and Southern Charm—so much so that Variety dubbed her one of the “40 Most Powerful Women in Reality TV” in 2023.

One thing you should know about DeSorbo: She loves to celebrate. And there’s no better way to do that than by popping a bottle of Prosecco (or more specifically, making an Amici Spritz—but more on that later). On National Prosecco Day on August 13, she announced she’s joining La Marca to give one winner and three friends a three-night stay at the La Marca Summer Villa in Venice, California, from August 31 to September 3.

“As someone who values friendships and doesn’t wait for a special occasion to celebrate, I’m thrilled to partner with La Marca Prosecco to turn a besties trip into a trip of a lifetime,” DeSorbo said in a press release. “The La Marca Summer Villa has such a vibe and is an amazing way to bring a taste of Italy stateside while creating unforgettable memories with your favorite friends.”

The lucky winners turned La Marca Summer Villa guests will have a personal chef ready to cook up some of the best food Italy has to offer, a dedicated personal butler, and loads of Italian-inspired activities on the itinerary. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on @LaMarcaProsecco’s Instagram profile about how you celebrate friendship before midnight on August 20.

If you don’t happen to win tickets to a stay at the Villa, there are still plenty of ways to use Prosecco to celebrate, from enjoying a Hugo Spritz Cocktail on the patio with your best friends to baking a Peaches & Cream Prosecco Cake or creating DeSorbo’s Amici Spritz, which she brought to life in collaboration with La Marca.

“Amici means ‘friends’ in Italian, and I love celebrating life’s moments—big or small—with my girls and a chic cocktail in hand,” DeSorbo told Better Homes & Gardens in an email. “When I was in Italy this summer, my dad complimented me on how stylish I looked sipping Prosecco, which inspired me to create a signature spritz with my favorite—La Marca Prosecco, of course.”

To make an Amici Spritz in the comfort of your own villa (home), here’s what you need:

3 ounces La Marca Prosecco1 1/2 ounces of Gin¾ ounces of lemon juice¾ ounces of honey syrup

Muddle your lemon slices and shake all the ingredients together except La Marca. Strain the liquid into a glass while simultaneously pouring in your Prosecco, and garnish with the lemon slice. According to DeSorbo, the honey adds “a touch of Dolce, which is like a sweet little nod to the easygoing, joyful Italian summer vibe.”

And as she insists, there’s no wrong way to salute.

“I’m so excited to see besties everywhere toasting with the La Marca Prosecco Amici Spritz, whether it’s at brunch or a sunny happy hour,” DeSorbo says. I hope it becomes the go-to drink for making unforgettable memories with friends.”
